This kind of "Wayang" is made of wood, held on the back. Its hands are made of leather and the profile is similar to "Wayang Purwa". The color is mostly red, brown, black and white modified with gold color. Since it is small, it is called "krucil" in Javanese language, it means small. According to Sinuluan Paku Buwono II, the "wayang" is called Klitik because it is made of wood in a two dimensional form and when it is performed, it produces the sound like "klitik, klitik"
It usually presents the story of Damarwulan, the source of the story is ancient scripts "Serat Damarwulan", but it can also present the story of "Mahabarata".
